The bluebells in the woods are well and truly over and it’s wild orchid season now. I’ve noticed that these two wild flowers tend to live in separate areas, with a No Man’s Land between their domains were you can find the occasional specimen of each but neither really flourishing.

What a stunning flower, Laura. I’ve never seen a wild orchid, but I must admit, I think I prefer them to the fancy-pants expensive ones. So many blossoms to adore!

They are lovely, it’s a particularly good year for them. Definitely an incentive to explore every corner of the woods in case there’s another colony around the next bend or along the side paths.
